V05 Volumizing Shampoo (433ml)

V05 Volumizing Shampoo (433ml) 1. Description

VO5 (sometimes styled “V05” or “VO5”) is a hair-care brand known for affordable shampoos and conditioners.

The “Extra Body Volumizing” variant is designed to add lift, fullness and bounce to hair that’s limp or fine. For example: “Enhance and create vibrant, bouncy hair” and “leaves hair looking thicker, fuller and beautiful.”

Key branding claims: “5 Vitamin formula” (Vitamin E, H, C, B5, B3) plus oils/collagen for volume.

It is marketed to all hair types — particularly fine or flat hair that needs more body.

2. Format

The size you mentioned: 433 ml (which is approx 14.6 fl oz) is in the general size-range; other similar sizes (370 ml) show up in listings (for instance 370 ml version on Jumia Nigeria) with similar formula.

It’s an Eau de shampoo (liquid cleanse product) for hair; typical usage: wet hair, apply to scalp/hair, lather, rinse.

Packaging: Bottle form for attention-grabbed volumizing effect.

Because it’s volumizing, it’s intended for regular use (though depending on hair needs) rather than occasional mask-only.

3. Sensory Profile

Feel & Fragrance:

Users report the scent is noticeable/pleasant: “nice scent” mentioned in review of the VO5 shampoo.

Lather is described as rich and easily rinsed.

Effect on Hair (Volume / Body):

Found to give a visible boost in volume/bounce for fine or limp hair in some tests: “noticeable improvement in hair volume,” especially for fine hair.

However, performance varies: Some users report dryness or build-up depending on hair type. > “several testers reported a noticeable build-up of residue… dryness or scalp irritation.”

Considerations / Limitations:

Contains sulfates (Sodium Laurel Sulfate, Sodium Laureth Sulfate) which are stronger cleansers and may be drying for certain hair types.

Some users with very dry or curly hair note it might not be sufficiently moisturizing — e.g., “Users with very dry or damaged hair may find this shampoo lacks the moisturizing properties needed.”

4. Wears & Suggestions (For Hair)

When to use / Who it suits:

Ideal for hair that is flat, fine, or lacks volume — if your hair tends to lie flat and you want more body.

Suitable when you want a light, lifted look rather than heavy styling or treatment.

Particularly effective for scalp and roots that lack lift.

How to integrate it into your routine:

Use on freshly wetted hair: apply shampoo focusing at scalp and upper lengths, gently massage, rinse thoroughly.

For volume, after towel-dry, you can combine with a lightweight volumizing conditioner or styling product to lock in body.

If hair is fine and you have lighter styling sessions, using this volumizing shampoo will help maintain lift.

Pairing & styling tips:

After washing with this shampoo, avoid heavy conditioners or rich thick creams on lengths, especially if you want to maintain volume — heavy conditioners can flatten hair.

Use a round-brush blow-dry or lifting root-blowout technique to enhance the volumizing effect.

For humid climates (like Lagos) where gravity and humidity may reduce volume quickly, consider finishing with a light volumizing mousse or root lift spray.

5. Helpful Tips

Storage & Care:

Store the bottle in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight to maintain formula integrity.

Ensure the cap is closed after use to avoid cross-contamination or accidental pouring.

Usage Tips & Warnings:

Because it contains strong surfactants (sulfates), if your scalp is sensitive, or hair is chemically treated/super dry, you might want to use less frequently or alternate with a gentler shampoo.

If you notice scalp itching, flaking or excessive dryness — reduce frequency or switch to a more moisturizing formula. Example: > “V05 is a harsh shampoo … got dandruff after using V05 ‘moisturizing’ shampoo.”

Always rinse thoroughly — residue can hinder volume and leave hair looking “flat” again or build-up.

For best volume: towel-dry hair gently, then apply volumizing styling products, avoid heavy serums at roots.

What to watch out for / Limitations:

If your hair is very coarse, curly, or in need of deep moisture, this shampoo may not be enough alone — you might need a richer conditioner or additional treatment.

If your hair is color-treated: volumizing shampoos with strong cleansers may accelerate color fading — note review: “Individuals with color-treated hair might experience fading.”

Since the brand has many variants, ensure you get the correct “Extra Body Volumizing” version (and size, e.g., 433 ml) to match your needs.
