Riggs London Venom (250ml)

Riggs London Venom (250ml) Description

Venom by Riggs London is a bold, masculine fragrance (though some sources say it’s unisex) crafted to make a strong impression. The bottle is red and striking, underlining the confident, assertive character of the scent. The brand positions itself as offering high-concentration fragrances at more accessible price points.

In the EDP format, the official notes listed by the brand are:

Top notes: Coconut, Marine Accord, Nutmeg

Heart (middle) notes: Ylang Ylang, Gurjum (a resin)

Base notes: Vanilla, Sandalwood, Patchouli

In local Nigerian listings for the body spray version some describe it simply as “floral, woody, exotic gourmand” with a strong sillage.

Format

The version you asked about is 250 ml. In the Nigerian market the “body spray” version (250 ml) is listed.

There’s also an Eau de Parfum version (100 ml or other sizes) available globally from the brand’s UK site.

Packaging: The bottle for the EDP is a bold red bottle; the body spray likely comes in an aerosol can/taller format given the “body spray/deodorant” description.

Sensory Profile

Opening (Top notes): You’ll likely detect a fresh coconut/marine accord with a hint of spiciness from nutmeg. This gives a somewhat tropical yet masculine edge.

Heart: As the fragrance evolves, the ylang ylang introduces a subtle floral warmth; the gurjum resin adds depth and a slightly smoky or balsamic character.

Dry-down (Base): The vanilla gives sweetness, the sandalwood brings smooth creaminess, and the patchouli adds earthiness and longevity.
The overall impression: It’s bold yet wearable; somewhat gourmand because of the vanilla, woody because of the sandalwood/patchouli, and fresh on top. It leans evening/statement-type, but could work day-to-day if you like a more intense scent.

Wear & Suggestion

When to wear: Ideal for evenings out, special occasions, or whenever you want to leave an impression. Because of its intensity and sweet-woody base, it may be a bit heavy for hot midday in tropical heat if you apply liberally.

Pairing: Goes well with smart-casual to formal attire — think a crisp shirt, blazer, or nice jacket. The richness of the base means it pairs well with darker colours, evening events, or when you want something a bit more luxurious.

How to apply: For the 250 ml body-spray version: spray onto clean, dry skin (or clothes if you prefer) from about 15 cm away. The product description recommends shaking before use.

For the EDP: apply to pulse points (wrists, neck) and perhaps one spray into the air and walk through for some ambient effect.

Longevity & sillage: Given its composition (vanilla, sandalwood, patchouli) and brand emphasis on high-concentration at value price, it is expected to last several hours (6+ hours) with a moderate to strong sillage, especially in the first few hours.

Helpful Tips

Test first: Because of its bold nature, test it on skin before heavy use — the vanilla/patchouli base can vary depending on your skin chemistry.

Clothing vs Skin: To preserve the scent and avoid staining (if dark coloured clothes), you might apply to skin and lightly spray onto fabric.

Layering: If you find it a bit too sweet, you could pair with a fresh unscented body lotion or wear a lighter cologne during the day and save Venom for evenings.

Storage: Store it in a cool, dark place (away from direct sunlight and heat) to preserve its character.

When to skip: In very hot weather or very close-quartered spaces (e.g., crowded indoor meetings), you might opt for lighter scent days — this is more impactful.

Authenticity: Given the value positioning, and some commentary on the brand’s niche, always purchase from reputable retailers to avoid counterfeits.
