Above Oilsheen Hair Spray (450ml)

Above Oil Sheen Hair Spray (450ml) 1. Description

Above Oil Sheen Hair Spray is a styling finishing spray designed to add shine (“sheen”), body, and conditioning benefits to hair. For example one listing says:

“Above oil sheen hair spray … adds body and natural shine to your hair … contains conditioning formula which nourishes your hair without irritants.”

It is marketed for “all hair types” and for styling or finishing to keep your style for a long

Additional claims: It “strengthens and heals damaged hair while adding sheen and bounce.”

2. Format

Size: 450 ml (or 450 ml in listings) — in Nigeria the product is shown as “450 ml” size.

Format: Spray bottle (hair spray) intended to be sprayed onto hair (dry or slightly damp) to impart shine and hold.

Usage: It acts as a finish or styling product rather than shampoo/conditioner — applied after styling to “finish off” the look with shine and manage-ability. For example: “The spray can be applied to either dry or wet hair.”

3. Sensory Profile

Look – Texture / Feel:

As a spray, the product will produce a mist; on hair it is claimed to “add body and natural shine.”

Because it is “oil sheen” it suggests that the finish will be glossy or lustrous, yet one listing claims it “doesn’t weigh down hair rather it keeps the hair healthy and feeling fresh.”

Fragrance / Scent & Hair Effect:

Specific scent isn’t detailed in listings, but users cite “good scent” among features.

Effect on hair:

Adds shine / gloss

Adds body (lift, bounce)

Provides a conditioning formula for manageability

Suitable for natural or relaxed hair types (in one listing)

Limitations / Considerations:

Because it is a spray finishing product that adds sheen, there is potential for hair to appear greasy or weighed down if over-applied or if hair texture is very fine and product is too heavy. Some general user commentary about similar “sheen sprays” suggests that shine sprays can be heavy on fine hair.

Some listings highlight that it contains a conditioning formula but don’t give full ingredient transparency; as with all styling sprays, product build-up or weigh down is a risk if not balanced.

4. Wear / Suggestions

When to use / Who it suits:

Ideal as a finishing spray after you’ve styled your hair (blow-dry, braids, weaves, relaxed hair, natural styles). Because of its sheen and body claims, it’s useful when you want a polished look with gloss and manageability.

Suitable for all hair types per marketing, but especially beneficial for hair that might appear dull, needs sheen, or for styles where you want bounce and visible shine.

In climates like Nigeria (hot/humid), this can help impart gloss and style retention; but you’ll want to use appropriately (see tips).

For natural or relaxed hair — one listing emphasizes it is “great on natural and relaxed hair.”

How to integrate into your routine:

After styling your hair (i.e., after shampoo → condition → towel-dry/dry and style via braids/weaves/straightening or whatever your routine is).

Hold the spray bottle at an appropriate distance (usually 6-10 inches) and mist across hair to add sheen and finish. Focus on lengths/ends where shine is more visible.

If hair is very fine or you prefer light finish, use a light spray; if hair is thicker/coarse and you want more gloss & help tame fly-aways, use a fuller spray.

For braid or weave installs: apply after install to give a finished / polished appearance and help maintain manageability.

Styling Tips:

Use on dry hair to finish off style and add sheen; if used on damp hair ensure you don’t spray too much and then fail to dry thoroughly (could lead to flattening).

For natural hair textures: after styling or shaping, apply a light layer and gently brush or fingers to distribute shine evenly.

For relaxed/straightened hair: use to add a glossy finish, reduce fly-aways and flatten fuzz.

In humid weather: use as finishing spray, and also consider a light hold product or setting spray to maintain style, as heat/humidity can cause flattening or frizz.

5. Helpful Tips

Buying & Authenticity Tips:

Confirm size: while many listings show 450 ml size, make sure bottle matches that size and is sealed properly. For example Jumia listing shows “450ml” size.

Price check: in Nigeria, one listing shows price approximately ₦6,500 for 450 ml.

Ensure purchase from reputable seller, especially to avoid old stock or mis-labelling.

Store bottle upright, in a cool dry place out of direct sunlight (especially in Lagos where heat is high) to maintain product stability.

Usage & Maintenance Tips:

Use moderately: A fine mist is often sufficient; overuse may cause hair to feel heavy, attract dust or build up.

Balance with cleansing and conditioning routines—since finishing sprays add product to hair, occasional clarifying shampoo may help remove build-up.

If your hair is very fine and you notice heaviness, apply less or focus only on lengths/ends and avoid roots.

Avoid spraying too close to face or scalp to prevent accidental product-contact with skin/eyes; always mist a bit away from roots unless styling technique calls for root coating.

When It Might Not Be Ideal / Limitations:

If your hair is extremely fine/flat and you use heavy styling sprays frequently, you may find hair loses volume or looks weighed down.

If you follow a “minimal product” or “no styling agents” routine, you may not want daily finishing sprays; instead reserve for special styling occasions.

If you have product-sensitive scalp or are avoiding certain ingredients, check label for potential irritants (fragrance, aerosol propellants, etc).

Since this is a styling/finishing product (not a treatment per se), it won’t replace deep conditioning, protein treatments, or damage repair; think of it as a supplement to your styling finish.
